NEW IRISH CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER APPOINTED TO IFG’S IRISH BUSINESS
Dublin, Ireland. July 3rd, 2007.
IFG Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Owens as Chief Executive Officer of IFG Ireland. Gary will lead the company in all aspects of its Irish business and replaces Mark Bourke, who was appointed CEO of IFG Group in May 2006. This is a significant win for the Group, with Gary also taking up a position on the Group’s main board.
Over the last 30 years, Gary has fulfilled many senior roles in both the Life and General Insurance industries. He has considerable experience in successfully leading companies through business transformation and of mergers and acquisitions. Gary has an excellent track record in building new and multi-distribution capabilities, experience which will be invaluable as IFG seek to grow their strength in the Irish market.
Commenting on the announcement, Mark Bourke, CEO of the IFG Group, “I am delighted to appoint such a strong candidate to this pivotal position. Over the last few years, IFG’s Ireland Division has strengthened its position as a leading financial services distributor and advisor, enhancing its in house advisory business and mortgage broking network which now facilitates over 150 independent brokers. Gary brings an excellent reputation and wealth of experience in the financial services arena. His appointment is a clear demonstration of IFG’s commitment to developing and expanding the Irish operations.”
Gary will take up his appointment effective from September 1st, 2007 and will at that time be co-opted to the plc Board.
